I trained as a Pilates teacher not with the intention of actually teaching but to further my own practice in the method; however I unexpectedly found that I really enjoyed teaching. Helping clients to connect with their bodies, work on their strength and agility (both physical and mental), and to work through any restrictions or niggles they have in the body to ultimately move freely and feel amazing.
Essentially, I love helping clients to find joy and results through movement – that is what inspires me.
The ascpect of Pilates with inspired me the most was the focus required to really successfully execute the Pilates repertoire.
You have to really be in the moment, concentrate fully on your movement and feel how different parts of your body respond and react to each repetition of an exercise – how can you tweak something in the movement to improve and get the most from the exercise. Pilates is great for your body and mind!
I enjoy rehab sessions as they can be very rewarding, although these can be ad-hoc, and On an-ongoing basis I like to work with clients who use Pilates to support and improve their performance in other sports and activities – working closely with them to hone their strength and technique in their sport.
I also love introducing clients to Pilates (i.e. beginners) as I enjoy seeing them get hooked on Pilates and then seeing them improve and evolve week on week. Likewise I like to work with men as I feel Pilates is often seen as a female exercise regime, and men are missing out on all the benefits of Pilates!

For me, Pilates is an extremely powerful meditative movement practice, with huge benefits for our mental and physical wellbeing. and, having experienced this for myself, I am passionate to share it with others.
The aspect of Pilates helped you most was
finding a deep mind, body, spirit connection for the first time in my life; connecting to my breath and its power; and being able to move safely, efficiently, and with fluidity and ease as a result - not just in the studio, but being able to meet all daily activities and physical challenges e.g. minimising/eliminating the effects of prolonged periods of sitting in my past as a human rights lawyer, looking after small children and elderly grandparents, and presently my perferred past-times of dancing, swimming, hiking, climbing, etc.
I mostly teach clients who need to release pains and aches post injury/as a result of a chronic condition, and are keen to develop a self-care routine to keep themselves on an even keel and learn how to move safely and avoid re-injury/flare ups.
I work a lot with older people, pre and postnatal women, people with pelvic floor issues – primarily where there is tightness and pain in the pelvic floor, and those who suffer from anxiety and stress.

Her interest in movement and its embodiment brought her to the Pilates Method, and since then she has continued to grow in her Pilates practice. In July 2018/19 she completed Gary Carter’s year-long course ‘Anatomy and Movement’, which has deepen her understanding of the body, its relation to gravity and movement integration.
Her approach to Pilates is based on awakening awareness of our own body, in order to move more mindfully and efficiently in daily life, and for each individual to find an optimal movement experience. The aim is to prevent pain and injury through movement.
More recently, September 2022, she completed her Bowen Technique training with Julian Baker, at the College of Bowen Studies. And she is now embarking on a long journey into learning and exploring the Feldenkrais Method, at the Instituto Feldenkrais.
